After a really inspiring Jewellery Symposium at Object space in Auckland. I want to Respond to the need for support at different stages of your practice by offering a residency program here in Queenstown with Studio42 for Jewellery and object makers. We will take emails of interest from a week to a month in May 2023. This could include partnering up with an inspiring gallery space - pairing you with a curator - delving into a passion project - exploring a concept - or inspiring pop-up space - working studio and or Mentor to develop a new body of work. The experience will be totally custom to you before you arrive. In your proposal, please include the size/ type of the studio you need - What skills you could share with our community for a workshop or talk during your stay and also a basic idea about what you hope for a residence. Keep it short, tidy up your Instagram as a portfolio and don't be long-winded in your idea - just give me your elevator pitch. I will call you for more details if I feel we can match you with what you need from our amazingly supportive artist community here in Queenstown. Who can apply? 1. Emerging jewellery Designers (self-taught) Wanting to push their practice. Yes, that includes you Silver Members. 2. Emerging from An art degree and are a bit confused about what next. Or an artist who has been away from their practice for some time and wants to get kick-started again. 3. An emerging maker who has an excitement to do sight-specific projects. 4. An established maker with a burning desire to do a passion project 5. An established maker who wants to do a collaboration with an artist in a different practice. The day you plant the seed is not the day you eat the fruit. You've got this email Jess Winchcombe and Tim Miller This image was taken by Paul Green of Jessica Winchcombe holding up an experimental piece at the start of our Collaboration projects that bloomed into the Unloosed project. 2 comments
